America's tone softens after Modi-Putin-Xi Jinping meeting (Social media)

National News: On Monday, the US embassy in New Delhi shared a post on social media and showed a positive attitude on Indo-US relations. The embassy wrote that the partnership between the two countries is continuously reaching new heights and can be counted among the most important relationships of the 21st century. The embassy also added that innovation, entrepreneurship, and defense cooperation are strengthening the permanent friendship of Indo-US.

Background of SCO Conference

The statement came to light on an occasion when Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit held in Tashkent. During the conference, the conversation between the three leaders and their warm pictures and videos were very much discussed on social media.

Reality is different: Tension in relationships

However, diplomatic experts believe that this statement of the US embassy does not match the ground reality. In fact, President Donald Trump's trade and tariff policies have brought the relationship between the two countries to a challenging phase. In the last two decades, Indo-US relations have rarely been under so much pressure.

Foreign Minister's statement

The US embassy also shared the message of External Affairs Minister Marco Rubio in its post. Rubio said, "Permanent friendship between India and America is the foundation for our cooperation. This relationship takes us forward towards realizing the possibilities of economic relations."

Trying to improve the image?

Political analysts consider it an exercise to improve the image of the US and balance the negative perception of relationships. Experts say that despite the melodious relationships shown in social media posts, the truth is that the business dispute and tariff war have created tension between the two countries.
